Corporate Sponsorship

Corporate Sponsorship

Scorpions Family -

In addition to our current jerky fundraising effort we are also actively seeking repeat or new corporate sponsors that will help our program accomplish our "Mission" as noted below while also keep costs down for the participants.  If anyone in our family would be interested in a corporate sponsorship or knows a firm that would please have them contact me at mrdrewsmith@yahoo.com or 406.672.2698.

Thanks and  Go Scorpions!

Our Mission

To inspire participation for both boys and girls within our club boundaries in the game of lacrosse. The organization’s goal is to instill positive life lessons for all participants through teamwork, working towards common goals, personal development, competition and most of all having fun at various skill levels and age. We strive to provide the highest level of coaching instruction at each age level to ensure individual growth within the sport. Respect for the game of lacrosse, teammates, opponents, officials and coaches is the cornerstone of our teaching philosophy.

BSL Blitz--road to the Jamboree

The green grass and outdoor lax is almost here!  This will be a banner year for our club for a variety of reasons, but it all starts with YOU.  A few notes since this next month, between now and the Billings Jamboree, is the busiest month for our club.

THANK YOU!  We continue to welcome new players and families into our extended Scorpion family.  I am continually encouraged by the volunteers and teamwork that continues to build momentum with each week… Notably, we have many new coaches this year who have stepped forward with no previous lacrosse experience.  The only reason we are able to field a record number of teams this year (Girls High School, 14U, 12U, 10U, 8U; Boys 14U (2x), 12U (2x), 10U (2x), 8U) is because we have parents, Scorpion alumni, and former lax players who want to help grow our kids with lacrosse as the vehicle.  This club is only as good, for the sake of our lacrosse-playing kids, as the people who step forward to volunteer and serve--and that's why as Scorpions we're on the path to AWESOMENESS!  Remember our GOALs for 2018: Grit, Outside the Box thinking, Ambassadorship, Love.

NEW PLAYERS--STILL NEEDED: It'd be great to have a few more players on each of our teams, so continue spread the word and recruit new Scorpions.  Note that the BSL Board voted to waive "late fees" for new players, and scholarships can still be made available.

KICKOFF EVENT: We hope you enjoy this early chance to develop lax camaraderie.  There will be a lot of information to share at our Kickoff Potluck so hope you can make it: volunteer opportunities, practice and game schedules, concussion testing and sports medicine info, Summer Select Teams and camps, club finances and fundraising, and more.  Please bring any unused Scorpion uniforms to the event so that we can "recycle" them within the club.

8U & 6U?: Practices and scrimmage will begin in April for our 8U boys and girls teams.  BSL has also discussed starting a co-ed 6U 3v3/no contact/soft lacrosse ball league for those players too young for 8U.  Let us know if you are interested in helping with this potential NEW 6U league.

7 Mar--Fundraising event at Buffalo Wild Wings

8 Mar--Coach's Medical Training

9-10 Mar--Boys' Officials Training (Billings)

11 Mar--Season Kickoff Potluck (4:30PM at the Shrine Auditorium)

12 Mar--outdoor practices were scheduled to begin, but we will likely have to delay starting outdoor practices until 19 Mar 2018.  We will be releasing info on one more week of indoor practices soon.

18 Mar--Level 1 Coach's Training (Great Falls)

24 Mar--Girls' Officials Training (Billings)

7 Apr--Billings Trailhead Lacrosse Jamboree!!

Working towards the GOAL this season… Let's GO Scorpions!

Committees Updated

Thank you all for the awesome response for committee volunteers! I have taken each request on a first come basis. There are a few committees that are full, but plenty of opportunities are still available. See below for the updated numbers.

Billings Scorpions Lacrosse (BSL) is an ALL volunteer organization. The measurement of success for the program depends on you, the VOLUNTEER. Committees have been organized to help continue the growth of lacrosse in the Billings community.

Sponsorship Committee - Drew S - 2 Members Still Need 1 More

The sponsorship committee is responsible for communicating the BSL program to local businesses and attracting sponsors for the upcoming season. They will create and distribute sponsorship brochures to potential donors, record donors contacted with results, and distribute “thank you” gifts to donors at end of season. Ideal for those with visual marketing knowledge and networking contacts.

Fundraising Committee - Josh H - 3 Members

Members of the fundraising committee help organize the BSL annual fundraiser. This includes introducing the fundraiser at our Season Kick Off event and coordinating money collection. Throughout the season we will look to the committee to bring new ideas to our members attention, and to schedule specific events and help raise funds for our club.  If you have any ideas or would like to volunteer to participate in the fundraising committee please let us know!

Uniform/Merchandise Committee - JoLana Z - 2 Members FULL

The uniform/merchandise committee will assist with uniform acquisition and distribution during the uniform swap. Members will also be contacts for Merchandise representatives during Billings Jamboree.

Season Kick-off Event Committee - Sissel G - 3 Members FULL

The members of this committee will aid in planning and executing the Season Kick-off Event in March. This includes developing a theme and acquiring decorations.

Tournament Committee - Joann A - 5 Members   FULL

This committee will help plan and execute the Trailhead Jamboree in April and possible State Tournament in June. This includes: contacting hotels and food trucks for availability, arranging an officials tent with food & beverages, ensuring tables with appropriate supplies at every field, etc.

Equipment Committee - Kelli Gates - 5 Members   FULL

This committee will assist the equipment director in organizing and inventorying of the equipment and storage. This will also include ensuring repairs are made.

Field Committee - TBA - 8 Members Still Need 5 More

This committee is mostly responsible for lining fields and ensuring fields are lacrosse ready. Field lining for practice fields will need to be done several times throughout the season. Field lining for tournaments will need to be completed in the week prior to games. Coach Anita Foster will be the contact for girls fields. Scorpion President Jason Foster will be the contact for boys fields.

Volunteering for a committee satisfies the season credit requirement. If you are interested in volunteering or have questions, please contact JoLana Zimmerman:
